Re-Think your Drink

How did it all begin? With a sugary lemonade from the university vending machine – the same drink, the same plastic bottle, the same waste day after day. The desire for something healthier and more sustainable led to an idea: Re:Drink. A solution that allows you to prepare your favourite drink directly from the tap – customised, delicious, and completely without a bottle.

How it all began

Every day at university, I bought myself an overpriced, sugary lemonade from the vending machine – always the same kind, always the same result: The bottle ended up in the trash. "Living more sustainably and healthily" had been my New Year's resolution for some time. So I talked to my friend Adrian about how to quench the thirst for something tasty without using a new bottle every day and thereby harming the environment. And then Adrian had an idea: Most drinks consist of over 90% water. In offices, schools, and many other places, there is already access to fresh tap water – so why not develop a solution to turn this water into a delicious beverage?

That's how it all started.

Sustainability and Health in Harmony

Re:Drink was founded by Eberhard Harnoncourt and Adrian Beissel to unite two needs that are at the forefront for many of us today: On one hand, the desire to drink enough – and something that tastes good, but is not full of sugar. On the other hand, the need to live as environmentally friendly as possible and to protect our planet.

Flavoured Water, Prebiotic Water, Energy Water... new trendy beverages are constantly appearing on the shelves. They promise to be healthier and tastier – in short: better for us. "Stay hydrated" – a phrase that regularly appears in Instagram stories. Because many people fail to drink enough. The reason: Pure water is often too boring for them. Flavor is needed – but classic soft drinks are usually too sweet, high in calories, and therefore not considered healthy. This is where the market is booming: Beverages that fulfill the desire for taste, health, and sufficient hydration.

But they have one thing in common – whether it's a soft drink or a "Healthy Alternative": They all come in bottles. These bottles – made of plastic or glass – are often produced far away, transported over many kilometers, and discarded or, at best, recycled after consumption. This burdens our environment on multiple levels: Transport causes emissions, plastic is full of harmful substances and decomposes very slowly, and even recycling requires a lot of energy – which, in turn, produces CO₂.

Your drink, your choice

This is where Re:Drink comes in: Re:Drink is an intelligent vending machine that prepares your very own favorite drink using natural ingredients and tap water. With just a small amount of concentrated flavours and fresh water straight from the tap, you determine how much flavour, sugar, carbonation, or sweetness your drink should have – entirely to your taste.

The dispenser is compact and fits with its cabinet module in any kitchen – ideal for the office. Up to six flavour boxes, a high-quality water filter, and all the technical components fit in the base. The machine is connected to the cloud, making operation and maintenance easy – for maximum availability and an optimal drinking experience.

From organic rhubarb to fruity green tea – you have the choice. Whether with or without bubbles, light or intense in taste: You create your very own refreshing and healthy drink.

No bottle. No waste. No problem.
